Bobby ("we", "our", or "us") is a social app for dog owners to discover nearby dogs, match for playdates, chat, and connect around dog-friendly spots and packs. We respect your privacy. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Bobby app and related services.
2. Information we collect
We collect: (a) information you provide — account and profile details (e.g. name, photo), your dog's profile (name, breed, age, photos, bio, traits), and any content you post or send (e.g. messages, pack events); (b) information from your device — location when you choose to share it (for Discover, the map, check-ins at spots, and pack home base), and device identifiers needed to run the app; (c) usage information to operate, secure, and improve the service.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to: provide Discovery (nearby dogs, swiping, matching), 1:1 and pack chat, the map and dog-friendly spots (including check-ins and spot invitations), packs and pack invitations, saved spots, lost-dog alerts, and blocking; to personalize the experience; to enforce our terms and policies; and to improve safety and product quality.
4. Sharing and visibility
Your profile and your dog's profile may be visible to other users according to your settings. Visibility is controlled by: Discover (who can see your dog), map visibility (everyone, friends only, or ghost), spot invitations (who can send you spot invites: everyone, matches only, or no one), and pack invitations (who can send you pack invites: everyone, matches only, or no one). We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their marketing. We may share data with service providers (e.g. hosting, analytics) that help us run the app, subject to confidentiality and use restrictions.
5. Your choices
In Account and related screens you can: control map visibility; set who can send you spot and pack invitations; turn location sharing for Discover on or off; manage blocked users; and delete your account (which removes your profile, dogs, matches, messages, and related data). You may request access to or correction of your data by contacting us.
6. Security and retention
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. After account deletion, we remove or anonymize your data as described in our deletion process.
